From a Saratoga Kitchen to a Small-Batch Nut Butter Company

Founded in 2005 by Jessica, Saratoga Peanut Butter Company began in a small kitchen in the heart of historic Saratoga Springs, New York. What started as a small, homegrown idea quickly became something bigger.

As a woman-owned, independently operated business, Jessica began experimenting with creative peanut butter combinations and sharing them with local businesses and customers online. Before long, those early creations were making their way onto store shelves and into kitchens throughout the region.

Over the years, Saratoga Peanut Butter has grown, but the heart of the company has stayed the same: make delicious, distinctive nut butters in small batches and take pride in every jar we make.

Today, Saratoga Peanut Butter is manufactured in a production facility just outside Saratoga Springs, New York, in Saratoga County. Every jar is made by us, from start to finish.

More than 20 years later, we're still doing what we love—creating peanut and almond butters that are a little different, a lot delicious, and proudly made in the Saratoga area.

What Makes Our Nut Butter Different?

We believe great nut butter starts with great ingredients, careful preparation and a little creativity.

We make our peanut and almond butters in small, controlled batches, giving us the ability to pay close attention to the texture, flavor and quality of every blend.

Some of our flavors are classic and simple. Others combine chocolate, maple, fruit, spices and other unexpected ingredients. But they're all made with the same goal: create nut butters that taste genuinely delicious and give you something a little different from the ordinary.

That's what keeps us experimenting, creating new blends and, most importantly, making peanut butter we're proud to put our name on.

The Story Behind the PB

Hi, I'm Jessica, founder of Saratoga Peanut Butter Company. I've been a peanut butter lover for as long as I can remember, and long before Saratoga Peanut Butter became a business, I was experimenting with homemade peanut butter creations for family and friends.

After having my son, Abe, I began wondering if those creative combinations could become something more. In 2005, I decided to give it a try—and Saratoga Peanut Butter was born.

One of our original creations, Monkey Boy, was named after Abe, whose two-year-old energy inspired the name. And more than 21 years later, I'm still creating, experimenting and having way too much fun with peanut butter.

Meet Major, the inspiration behind Major Maple.
He was a stubborn little Jack Russell with a huge personality who spent 17
years as part of our family — and most of the life of Saratoga Peanut Butter
Company. Major Maple was named after him, and judging by this photo, he clearly
took his role in product development very seriously.

The name Monkey Boy was inspired by young Abe, whose boundless energy gave one of our original peanut butter blends its name. He's been part of the Saratoga Peanut Butter story from the very beginning -and you may even spot him at one of our festivals.
